Pregnancy Services

Our Center offers a complimentary wellness exam and medical grade pregnancy test, administered by a certified nurse. Also included in this visit is an ultrasound with a picture to take home with you!

Missed period, nausea, fatigue… Maybe you’ve taken a pregnancy test at home and are faced with ….now what?

Your intake appointment is the first step at Sarasota Medical Pregnancy Center. You will be given a medical grade pregnancy test and opportunity to speak with a nurse – she will go over your results with you and answer any questions you may have.

If you qualify for an ultrasound, we will also book your cost-free ultrasound at this time.

Finding out you are pregnant when you were not planning to be can be very overwhelming. We will take the time to listen to your situation and provide you with accurate, up-to-date info about all your pregnancy options. We want you to be empowered to make an informed choice about your pregnancy.

Sarasota Medical Pregnancy Center is a 501c3 non-profit that provides a safe place for you to explore all your pregnancy options. We do not perform or refer for abortions, and therefore do not gain financially from your choice.

Did you know that “false-positive” pregnancy tests can happen? That’s why in addition to administering a medical grade pregnancy test, SMPC also provides nurse consultations & ultrasounds.

All ultrasounds at SMPC are for confirming pregnancy viability and gestational age. Which is basically making sure that yes, you are pregnant without any current signs of miscarriage, and determining how far along you are. These two pieces of information are really important, and will help you in deciding next steps.

STD/STI Testing

If you are, or have ever been sexually active, the answer is yes, you need to be tested. Even if you are not experiencing any symptoms, a sexually transmitted infection could be silently damaging your body.

The Center offers cost-free urine testing for two of the most common STDs/STIs – Gonorrhea and Chlamydia. These infections often do not show any symptoms but are still damaging to your body and can impact your fertility- especially if you have had a miscarriage or an abortion.

If you need further testing for HIV or syphilis , we can provide you with referrals as well!

Book your free STD consult today! Your results will either give you peace of mind, or help you receive the treatment that you need to be a healthy, happy you.

Social Services Navigation

Sometimes clients need more than just pregnancy support; they need help with physical challenges facing them. Our social services navigation team are experts in helping clients understand what is available to them and how to access that help. The team works with the client to connect needs with services.

“We need help, and it was SMPC that answered our call. They connected us with a Season of Sharing grant that covered our rent and utilities. We would have been in desperate circumstances without SMPC’s social services team’s help.”

~ Kata, SMPC client

Behavioral Health

It’s not uncommon to have emotional challenges and trauma along with an unplanned or unprepared pregnancy. In addition, some women could benefit from extra support after the baby is born. With the skilled care of a trained therapist or licensed social worker, a willing client can make a turn for the better. Behavioral Health can be costly and oftentimes there’s a waiting list to get in. However, here at the Center, we can provide confidential and compassionate care at no cost to you.

“My SMPC peer advocate was a constant support for me and when postpartum depression set in, she immediately connected me with the Center’s behavioral health counselor. The counselor has helped me cope and get well again. All of SMPC’s services have come together to literally save my life.”

~ Megan, SMPC client
